From now until the 31st of January Aesthetic Perfection are running a video competition on YouTube, where, simply put, fans are invited to dance and “win crap”. Fans are asked to dance to any track from the latest album ‘All Beauty Destroyed’ for a chance to win anything they want from the official merchandise store. In the official Aesthetic Perfection newsletter the band also spelled out the tantalizing prospect of a prize only described as “SOMETHING SO AWESOME WE HAVEN’T THOUGHT OF IT YET” anyone who reaches the staggering heights of 30,000 hits by the deadline.
Entrants are invited to be as crazy and inventive as they can, and above all, have fun. At the same time they are also invited to spam their friends like crazy with their endeavours, so if you receive a clip of somebody stomping along to ‘Inhuman’, be a dear and pass it on.

The irrepressible Daniel Graves, better known as the industrial EBM act Aesthetic Perfection, has done it again with the savage new video for ‘Inhuman’. As the second single from new album ‘All Beauty Destroyed’, ‘Inhuman’ represents just one part of the warring concepts of perfection and the struggle for beauty . With its shout along hooks of “No hope, No pain, No loss, No gain” along with the pulsing rhythm of Graves new evolved sound Inhuman is a wholly different creature from what we’ve seen before in Aesthetic Perfection.
Available to stream now on YouTube, the video was recorded in an abandoned rehabilitation centre on the outskirts of Berlin and bears all the hallmarks of the bands earlier frantic music video ‘The Great Depression’, but with a deeper, more creative edge.

The oppressive shunt and file of the beats and drums on ‘Hello My Name Is’ are one of the curious contradictions of this quantum leap forward for Angelspit. Now a full four piece band with live guitars and drums bolstering the acts digital back bone and dual vocalled heart, this album flexes a variety of sonic muscles from the automaton rhythm of work slave anthem Cubicle, to the tooth rotting bubblegum of Defibrillator and the punk industrial pinnacle of Bullet Proof. As always doom-speaker wordsmith Zoog Von Rock crafts scathing hook after scathing hook with Counterfeit’s stand out lyric “If God is money, I am the Devil, I am the Devil. If God is money, I am counterfeit, You’ve been had” just one of a wealth of volleys cast against the brainwashed culture of economic paranoia.
In addition to Angelspit’s stronger instrumental foundation the new album gives Zoog the opportunity to showcase his vocal range with Catatonic and Deadly featuring some surprising but effective melodic vocals. ’Hello My Name Is’ occasionally harkens back to the sound of Krankhaus but a hell of a lot of progress has undoubtedly been made. In Vermin a Fibonacci sequence inspired visceral cheerleader chant follows the bouncy, almost candy coated beats. Even at its perkiest this album comes with constant reminders of the bands core sound an as the lyric goes “You will know us by our trail of static”.
Angelspit are an outstanding band capable of constant reinvention, regularly delving into an almost kaleidoscope catalogue of splintered sounds, expertly performed every time. ‘Hello My Name Is’ is no exception to the bands consistently high standards and continues their effective tradition of conceptually crafted releases that are both provocative and danceable.

Angelspit – Hello My Name Is is available now via Metropolis Records.
