Australian 4 piece thrash band 4ARM have recently inked a deal with Rising Records. Their label debut entitled ‘Submission For Liberty’, produced by Matt Hyde, will be their third studio album overall and is scheduled for a February 6th release.
The band have also released a web trailer for the album granting a sneak peek at what to expect from ‘Submission For Liberty’. The album contains 10 ferocious tracks of blending ear-splitting thrash metal and ball tearing groove.
Vocalist, guitarist and co-writer Danny Tomb shared his thoughts on the signing “We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with Rising Records. I feel this will give the band the exposure it needs to be a real force in the metal scene not only nationally but internationally. After working hard for over 7 years now, we now have a real sense of achievement and a hunger to push things even further.”

4ARM – Submission For Liberty is due for release worldwide February 6th via Rising Records.

The debut release by the dark ambient act The Bogs Of Aughiska is designed to inspire Celtic nightmares. the 5 track cd contains over 40 minutes of unsettling Irish noise that combines Irish folklore with the coarse roar of The Bogs of Aughiska’s whirling soundscapes. Described as the musical equivalent of standing on top of the Cliffs of Moher with a gale force wind in your face, the album is inspired by a bleak environment and Ireland’s rich history and culture.
The Great Sea Stack At The Cliffs Of Moher opens the album with its ominous echoes and crashes. Distant deep guitars set the tone for this 8 minute ambient epic. The Great Sea Stack is simultainously soothing, terrifying and humbling. The listener is left in a vast, lifeless soundscape at the mercy of nature.
Aos Si has a less subtle start with a single tone held via keyboard gradually building to an overwhelming volume. This tone evokes an etheral dreamscape, dreams which are led by a collection of spoken word elements which tell tales of Banshees and Faeries. These tales are also accompanied by occasional bars of harp, pipes and accordian. The tales of this harbinger of death mixed with this dream like tone are as utterly unnerving as they are simple and are all the more effective for it.
From the second Aos Si closes we are slapped in the ears by the swirling winds of Leabhar Gabhala Eirann. A trick that shakes us out of the slumber and eerie ambience of its predecessor. The chaotic rumble quickly becomes much more rhythmic and Guitar like. An utterly portentious sound as if we are being dwarfed by the elements or some unseen spectre.
Of Gods and Fighting Men is equally as eerie as what has gone before but thankfully much less forceful. Our first signs of life beyond the ghostly drops and whistles are a chorus of howling hounds. Of Gods And Fighting Men feels like you are being led through barren swampy lands by something certainly not of this world before reaching a creschendo with a blast of a horn.
Crosswinds returns to Leabhar Gabhala Eirann’s elemental assault with chilling strings amidst its roars.
The five tracks are a potent blend of roaring dark spaces and creeping noise. These tracks represent the bleak untamed landscape of Ireland and the grim spirits and folk tales the land is famed for. There’s no doubting this is a powerful album with strong ghostly overtones that capture a feeling of the land, history and everything beyond them that lurk within Irelands rocky shores. From The Bogs Of Aughiska is a compitent and engrossing debut that horrifies and enraptures you with an original take on life in the emerald isle.

The CD is currently available via Lone Vigil Recordings.
