Melt - Emissions of Hypocrisy.

Melt runs in gunning with their album ‘Emissions of Hypocrisy,’ trying any way they can to incite a riot. No matter what your state of mind, the first track builds to an ignition that lets you truly see the way ‘The World Is On Fire.’ As with the rest of the album (and most albums in this genre), this track is particularly repetitive, but you’ll still miss it when it ends. Luckily, the rest of the album will satisfy the craving this opener creates. The samples and outlandish beats emit the same subversive, retributive spirit that Ministry once pioneered. ‘Full of (Sh)It’ is a more specific stab at the government, while tracks like ‘Everything Is Dead’ are disgusted with everything in general. The album also wields tracks like ‘Worm’ that, while not really exploring any original subject matter, are great outlets for those who feel as if the world is about to snap them into mass homicide. The guitars groove and sneer as they should throughout the album, the vocals taunt and shriek in all the right places, and the hammering drum beats carry the tracks where they need to go. Overall, Melt’s newest album offers nothing radically, but definitely delivers a well made, fresh take on industrial metal.
Melt – Emissions of Hypocrisy is available now via Metropolis Records.
