I throw my hands in the air and admit that I’m not an authority on Primus. I understand how much they are revered in the world of music and obviously “Winona’s Big Brown Beaver” is the greatest song ever created, however not having ever had the mental capacity to listen to a full Primus album in one sitting I didn’t know how to take this newest effort. And I really do feel like I have missed out over all these years if this album is anything to go by.
Time hasn’t really been too kind to Staind. The taste of the big time they encountered in 2001 with “Break The Cycle” must seem like forever away. They changed and “improved” their sound from the harsh, dirty nu-metal of their first two albums, found success with the single “Outside” courtesy of Fred Durst, and then just got plain fucking boring for three albums. So what happens when they release their seventh album?
Finnish epic metallers Amberian Dawn are due to play London’s Islington Academy as part of the touring ‘Out Of The Dark’ festival. Taking place on October 9th the festival will be a grand display of vocally orientated metal. The festival also features headliners Tristania, plus Van Canto, Xandria and Serenity.
