Electronic Saviours

Electronic Saviours

A recent trend has seen a spate of industrial and EBM releases working hard for your money and their causes, be they the cure of disease or even the relief in Haiti.
Metropolis records, one of the giants of the industrial scene now helps to bring you the Electronic Saviours compilation, comprised of acts like Chemlab, Suicide Commando and Assemblage 23 who have all banded together in support of longtime promoter, DJ, and frontman for electro-industrial band Rein[Forced], Jim Semonik, who was diagnosed with stage 2B colorectal cancer On May 1st, 2008. The compilation is divided into 4 stages, spread across 4 discs each with titles such as Diagnosis and Insurance, Chemotherapy and Radiation, Surgery and Recovery; with a supplemental digital download only 5th disc of “Bonus Medication”.
Electronic Saviors is an immense compilation with over 64 tracks worth of exclusive songs and remixes from big names in the scene with Combichrist contributing, among others. A quick glance at the listings sees acts contributing eerily appropriate tracks and blackly comic titled remixes such as “Everything Goes Cold – I’ve Sold Your Organs On The Black Market To Finance The Purchase Of A Used Minivan (I Don’t Want Those Organs If There’s Cancer In Them Mix)”.
The album is limited to 2500 physical copies with a digital download available.
All I can truly say about this release is that it must have been an immense undertaking and even a fleeting look at the names below presents you with a who’s who guide to industrial music. Whether you agree with the cause or not this is an exciting release.
