Download announce new bands

Posted on: 01/02/2010 by: Oxking

The time of year has arrived where festival headliners ruffle their feathers and show their cards to wet people’s appetites. Until last year it would be fair to say that Download had the lions share of attention with the rock and metal fans, however the success of Sonisphere last summer has led to a lot of attention being split. Download have announced AC/DC, Them Crooked Vultures, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Bullet For my Valentine, Volbeat, Megadeth, Wolfmother and Motorhead to play at Donington this June, thereby dispelling any and all rumours that Sonisphere will have the big 4 playing at their festival. This is an interesting selection of bands, however was not the massive announcement we have been expecting. I expect we shall have to continue waiting until full war breaks loose later on in the year when Sonisphere counter this. Either way Summer is going to be very interesting this year…..

This is just the initial announcement. We can only hope that they still have aces up their sleeve.
