Having built a reputation as receptacle for the ridiculous, a directory of the disgusting and, obviously, a book of the Bizarre. Bizarre magazine is hosting yet another live event.
Following on from the bizarre ball 08 and supplemented by a series of bizarre live dates, championing acts such as Electric Eel Shock and Zombina and the Skeletones (bands featured within the pages of this magazine in recent years) in an attempt to bring weird to the people.
Based in London’s SeOne, a venue also use to host Torture Garden, this years Bizarre Ball is aimed at drawing out its weirder readers, fetishists, artists and steam punk explorers in everything from latex to monocles to inflatable pig outfits.
Previous events have played host to burlesque and fetish performers, luchadore Mexican wrestlers and a variety of offbeat musical acts. The current line up for the 09 ball features a dedicated steam punk room, the return of Lucha Britannia (who have since performed at this year’s Download festival.
The even itself takes place on October 17th so there is still time to get your outfit together but tickets are selling fast.
Confirmed acts so far include..
Circus of Horrors, Lucha Britannia, Your host with more than the most Desmond O’Connor, the dark, delicious and wicked – Jonny Woo, Freak show royalty – The Vivid Angel, Queen of twisted burlesque and winner of Alternative Miss World – Fancy Chance, the Crazy, crazy, crazy – Syban V, the Lip Sinkers, Bawwo and Miss Macabre and with comedy legend Frank Sidebottom rounding off the bill so far means this event is set to deliver a whole wealth of bizarre entertainment from the moment you enter.
