Though the news has been around for a bit that an adaptation was in the works, this amazing trailer shows whats on the cards for Spike Jones adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s ‘Where The Wild Things Are’.
The original book tells the tale of Max, who one evening plays around his home, “making mischief” in a wolf costume by chasing the dog with a fork and growling at his mom.
Being sent to bed without supper as a punishment max witnesses his room grow into a mysterious, wild forest.
This is where Max journeys to the land of the Wild Things, fearsome-looking monsters,Max conquers “by staring into their yellow eyes without blinking once,” and he is made “the King of all Wild Things.”
Although only ten sentences long this picture book has been regarded as an American classic and has spawned, if you pardon the reference, a series of McFarlane toys and plushies in the past.
Images of the film, first released online as skateboard decks looked amazing which were later followed by an amazing trailer, which can be seen here. Set for an October release This looks to be a vivid cinematic day dream in the making.
Let the rumpus Begin!
