X Men Origins – Wolverine is based around the beginnings of the man, Logan and how he became the claw wielding creature we all know as Wolverine. It documents his mysterious past and run ins with fellow mutants and looks like it might finally answer the question just why he and Sabertooth have such an ongoing rivalry. Fans are also looking forward to the now confirmed presence of the quick witted merc with a mouth, Deadpool, you know, the guy who thinks in little yellow boxes…
The film looks like it will be well received by fans who are always clamoring for more Canadian, cigar chomping action, who may have already seen the movie on the small screen when work prints, with unfinished special effects leaked to the internet, which rumor has it, had the FBI brought in to track down the culprits.
I myself took a peek, only the first half hour as not to destroy the mystique, and found the movie to be quite awesome for want of a better word. X geeks will surely be weighing up the accuracy of the movie to the original comic storyline of which I’m sure they have taken liberties with though much of wolverines history was still unknown recently in the world of Marvel comics.
On full release this Wednesday, Wolverine will be the fourth but surely not the last X-film, with films like a Magneto origins movie and a X Men First Class movie documenting the early years of Cyclops and company before the first movie also in the works.
