Australia’s  premium industrial exports, Angelspit, are going solo, releasing a new remix album of sophomore release “Blood Death Ivory” on their own label, to be known as Black Pill Red Pill records..

The band describe the new label as more an Art Factory than a record label, intending to follow a multidiscipline  model allowing them complete artistic freedom. As anyone who owns a hard copy of one of Angelspit’s records will know the band are more than just a musical act. they are an explosion of fashion, fetish and medical imagery.

The band believe that such freedom would “foster collaboration between video, visual arts, fashion and music, extending Angelspit’s creative output into new artistic areas”.

Expect something different from each Black Pill Red Pill release.

The first of these releases is touted to be the remix album of Blood death Ivory. Awide number of acts, with many being former touring partners of the group have stepped forward to contribute to this release,including names such as:
KMFDM, Alec Empire, Ayria, I:scintilla, Baal, and Ego Likeness.
The album is to be titled Black Kingdom Red Kingdom with a May 19th release date and will be available exclusively for Surgeon-x.com with pre-orders beginning in April.

Expect this album to be a visual remix as well as musical with the emphasis on cross platform creativity describing the physical release as being more of an art package than a cd.

The album will also be available in a digital format globally.

Angelspit have long held a sort of deconstructive/DIY ethic encourging their fans to create and reconstruct music, art and merchandise.
In addition to a number of ‘Zines and stencils hosted on Angelspit’s homepage, band member Zoog has created and released a number of what are now known as Blipverts, short bursts of information direct from the band which take the form of tips and tricks or how-tos for the aspiring rivehead.

ZooG builds a DIY “Cyber Guitar” (CyTar) to use in Angelspit’s new album. Using junk found in back streets, Angelspit build a unique instrument to create atmospheres, guitar sounds and vocal effects. The CyTar pays homage to the DIY nature that originally inspired Industrial music.
