Echoing these words of defensive wisdom given to psychotic right wing pop stars I choose to defend these two men in their time of need. The media, once again, has latched onto this story and spiralled it out of proportion so that all the elderly, single or asexual people with too much time on their hands (about the same amount of people who actually write into Watchdog) feel “disgusted” by their prank call. Ok, well I ask you, the fair public, the following questions;

1. Before you were reminded, did you even know who Andrew Sachs was? Would it have mattered if it was another member of the public?

2. Were you aware that Sachs Grandaughter, the subject of the answerphone messages, was a member of dance troupe “The Satanic Sluts Extreme”? So don’t go around thinking she was an innocent little princess with sunshine and a halo and made of sugar and spice! She is a fully grown woman who can make her own decisions, DID have sex with Brand and does THIS for a living

3. The BBC Radio 2 show did not go out live, and had to be signed off by the producer of the show. Now, regardless of whether or not the prank calls were out of order, it was the producer’s job to contact Sachs and get his permission to put the calls out on air. Now, according to reports, if they are to be believed, Sachs said that he did not want these messages put out, but the producer went ahead and did it anyways. So, who should be blamed? The boss or the workers?

The fact that this has gone to Parliament is just a fine example of what the government will do to to divert attention away from the major issues affecting the country. I.E the global financial crisis, rising unemployment levels and the plethora of other problems we have.

In retrospect. Look at what else was happening in the world at the same time that could have easily replaced this story.
