Make Me A Christian
Posted on: August 10, 2008 by: OxkingRichard Dawkins wont like this! This may be my new favourite Channel 4 programme. A team of Christians led by the very enthusiastic Reverend George Hargreaves set out upon a mission to rid the nation of moral decline by introducing a set of “sinners” to the ways of the Bible and convert them in 3 weeks. Did you know the Bible apparently stands for Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth? Ahem. Fundamentalism at it’s finest! It’s on Sundays at 7pm and this week mostly followed a walking fuck machine on his chav pulling and shagging descent into Hades, bringing up the all so controversial issue of abortion, sex before marriage and the old chestnut of STD’s. While the program does what good journalism does best, the mild attempt of bias, it does feel like the show is gradually poking fun at the age-old religion, or maybe the humour comes from watching Christians attempting to push their ideals onto a world that is too far gone to care. Either way, this is essential viewing. But if it’s going to hold any real weight as a long term series, other religions need to get a chance to try and convert people as well. Can’t wait for Make Me A Satanist. Seriously though it’s a lovely idea for a show.

Well; there was also “Make Me A Muslim”, earlier this year I believe. It is currently available on 4 OD at this [link].
