The Cure News

Following on from the band’s self titled album in 2004, the Cure are indeed almost finished their as-yet-untitled 13th album. Being such a precocious number for a precocious band, they have also plans to release four singles, one on the 13th of each month until the album comes out. The first single “The Only One” was released this month, and you can listen to it here. You may have heard this one if you ventured out to the WendyHouse last Saturday.
The next single will be “Freakshow”
The album will apparently be a double album, but as Robert Smith has stated, he wants the album to be priced at single album areas. With free downloads and whatnot taking the record industry’s pants down and bending it over a wooden box, i hope that these musical legends will still be able to produce killer music that fans want to fork out a little cash for. And with this first single being as catchy and Cure-tastic as anything in their back catalogue, I’m expecting very good things.
